We believe that creating a focussed, motivated and fulfilled workforce at Cobra means giving our people the skills and the attributes they need to do their job. That is why we invest heavily in staff training and development.

It works for us. Our training schemes can make it work for you too.

All Cobra security staff must undergo rigorous recruitment procedures and a 16-week training and evaluation process. In addition, we continuously invest in our people with an on-going development programme that includes the stringent Skills for Security standards.

This rich training resource means we are ideally placed to pass our knowledge and skill on to our customers. To this end, we offer a range of training courses, delivered by our three SIA-licensed trainers. All our courses are fully certified, with certificates issued to delegates.

Training courses are usually held at our Mallusk Training Centre, but on-site training can also be delivered if required. In addition, with offices in Dublin, Cork, Galway and L/Derry, and a new UK office established in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales, we are ideally placed to meet the training needs of customers throughout Ireland and in the UK.

Security

We are leaders in security training. We have the resources and expertise to provide the calibre of personnel necessary to deliver the highest standards of security services to our customers. We follow the BS 7858 standards for vetting and BS 7499 for training provision, but our aim is always to develop our staff beyond the normal industry standards, ensuring that we are always at the forefront of security training.

Conflict Management

Our trainers are qualified in the City and Guilds Level 5 ‘Delivery of Conflict Management Training’ (1886). This course is applicable to those working in the security industry, as well as others, such as managers and employees. The core areas covered include:

  • Avoiding conflict
  • Diffusing conflict
  • Resolving and learning from conflict
  • Understanding good practice
  • Principles of conflict management
